March 2024 Central Committee Meeting

March 20 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

About SacCountyGOP Meetings

The Sacramento County Republican Central Committee meetings are open to Committee Members, Alternates, and Associates with 25 open seats for invited guests. The agenda is set in advance by the SCRP Executive Committee. Since participation in the Committee meeting is reserved for Committee members only, guests are encouraged to discuss their ideas in advance with a committee member (view the list of members), or to send their comments to info@saccountygop.com.
No recording devices are allowed during the meeting, including phones. Photos/videos will be taken by representatives of the SacCountyGOP only. Thank you!

The Sacramento County Republican Central Committee meets on the third Wednesday of the month. Meetings begin at 6:30pm. We do not hold meetings in July or December, unless there is a special need.

Registered Republicans in Sacramento County who signed up in advance to observe the meeting have been notified that they are welcome to attend.

The March agenda will include a review of March Election results and plans for November as well as the calendar of upcoming community events where SacGOP will host a table or booth. We will also review ballot measures that are circulating to qualify for the November election and will announce the timeline for November candidate filings and endorsements.

What Happened at the February Meeting?

Chair Betsy Mahan provided a review of the successful Open House and Presidents’ Day Dinner events. Over 60 ballots were collected, observers were trained, and phone calls made to support our candidates at the Open House. Presidents’ Day Keynote Speaker Steve Hilton was inspiring and we thank all sponsors and volunteers who made the Dinner a success.

The Central Committee unanimously approved the Executive Committee recommendations on ballot measures as follows:

We also heard a presentation by Robert Goss, Folsom Takes Action, promoting a special sales tax increase of 1% to support community services. Nick Bloise stated on behalf of the Sacramento Taxpayers Association that they are in opposition. The Committee will revisit the issue in the future if the measure qualifies for the November ballot.

Chair Mahan gave a report on voter outreach, including over 3,000 calls made to date, texting and email campaigns to promote SacCountyGOP’s Voter guide, joining in on candidate walks, and the Pick Up 50 program where Republicans can take 50 Voter Guides and distribute them to their friends, neighbors, and colleagues.
