May 2023 Central Committee Meeting

May 17, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

About SacCountyGOP Meetings

The Sacramento County Republican Central Committee meetings are open to Committee Members, Alternates, and Associates with 25 open seats for invited guests. The agenda is set in advance by the SCRP Executive Committee. Since participation in the Committee meeting is reserved for Committee members only, guests are encouraged to discuss their ideas in advance with a committee member (view the list of members), or to send their comments to info@saccountygop.com.
No recording devices are allowed during the meeting, including phones. Photos/videos will be taken by representatives of the SacCountyGOP only. Thank you!

The Sacramento County Republican Central Committee meets on the third Wednesday of the month. Meetings begin at 6:30pm. We do not hold meetings in July or December.

Due to limited space, only registered Republicans in Sacramento County who registered in advance as guests will be admitted to observe the meeting.

The May agenda will include endorsements in AD 7 and AD 9, election of Treasurer, and a briefing by former Undersheriff Jim Barnes on current security precautions for volunteers, including situational awareness techniques and known threats from organized groups who use intimidation to discourage conservatives from participating in public events. We will also address the San Juan and Natomas USD Special Elections, and upcoming trainings for candidates.

GOP Club Presidents are invited to report on upcoming events they will be sponsoring.

What happened at the April meeting?

The Committee announced seats up for election in the March 5th Primary, including the Central Committee. Candidates can pull papers to run for office starting in November of this year. View the entire list of seats up in March here. Learn more about running for office here.

Barbara Sloan reported on upcoming community events where SacCountyGOP will host a booth or table, including the Sacramento County Fair coming in late May. Learn more and sign up to volunteer at this link.

The special election in San Juan Unified School District 7 was announced. It will take place November 7, 2023. Citrus Heights business owner Natalee Price announced her intention to run in this seat. Price ran for Citrus Heights City Council in 2022 and nearly defeated the Democrat incumbent, losing only by 12 votes. The Central Committee will endorse in this race.
