November Ballot Measures

Several ballot measures are in the signature gathering phase, including two that are of interest to conservatives. Learn about the Voter ID and Save Prop 13 measures below. Then download a petition and start gathering signatures! Call SacCountyGOP Headquarters (916) 822-5618 if you have questions, or would like to come in to sign or turn in petitions.

Visit this link on the Secretary of State’s website for current information on the status of ballot measures.

  • Require Voter ID for Every Ballot Counted: All votes, whether cast in-person or by mail, will be counted only after verification of a government-issued identification.

  • Citizenship Verification: Require the Secretary of State and county elections officials to use government data to verify citizenship attestations on voter registrations, closing loopholes and protecting voter rolls from error or abuse.
  • Restore the 2/3 vote protection for citizen initiatives
  • End real estate transfer tax loopholes
  • Repeal existing transfer taxes enacted by dozens of cities in California as high as 5.5% of the market value of the property
  • Secure taxpayer protections from local tax increases and save Proposition 13

Prop 50 Update & June Election Details

Close to 60% of Sacramento County Republicans turned out to oppose Prop 50 in the November 2025 Special Election, but that wasn’t enough to protect our House seats. Now the measure is being challenged by the CAGOP and the US Dept. of Justice and we should know more about the outcome in early December. If the litigation is not successful, new district lines will cause candidates to change their plans. Since Rep. Kiley’s district was chopped up and gerrymandered into multiple districts, we are awaiting his decision on the district in which he will run. Democrat Rep. Ami Bera has already decided to switch districts and run in the new CD 3 and multiple candidates are announcing their interest in CD 6. Stay tuned and we will provide updates on this page!
