Election Integrity Is Front and Center
The Sacramento County Republican Party is committed to helping ensure our county elections are conducted fairly and transparently for both candidates and voters.
During each election, trained SacCountyGOP volunteers serve as observers at Vote Centers and ballot drop boxes to help monitor the voting process. Additionally, we help “cure” Republican ballots that were submitted incorrectly. Below, you’ll find information about your role as an election observer. If you witness any activity that appears to violate election laws or procedures, please report it promptly through the appropriate channels.

Sacramento County Republican Party - Election Integrity Program
There has been significant change within the Sacramento County Voter Registration & Elections Office, including changes to policies, procedures, and communication with community organizations. These changes have raised concerns among many voters regarding transparency, public engagement, and opportunities for meaningful community participation in the election process.
Rather than stepping back, the Sacramento County Republican Party is committed to increasing citizen involvement through its Election Observer Program. We are seeking hundreds of Sacramento County registered Republicans to be trained and deployed for the November 2026 General Election to observe voting locations, help promote confidence in the election process, and ensure voters are welcomed and election procedures are properly followed.
Election Observers play an important role by documenting their observations and submitting reports to the Sacramento County Republican Party. Those reports are shared with the County Elections Office to recognize what worked well, identify areas for improvement, and help strengthen confidence in the electoral process for all voters.
How does Sacramento County Elections Secure the Vote?
In order to secure elections, it’s important to understand the process, including voter registration, how ballots reach voters, verification of ballots submitted, and how votes are counted.
In addition to observers who represent the Republican Party, the public is welcome to observe any part of the election process. To learn more, visit the Election Observer Guidelines on Sacramento County Election’s website. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, you must make an appointment to observe. To schedule an appointment, please call (916) 875-6451 or email voterinfo@saccounty.net. You may also call their toll-free voter assistance hotline at (800) 762-8019.
