We do not hold meetings in July or December\, unless there is a special need. \nRegistered Republicans in Sacramento County who signed up in advance to observe the meeting have been notified that they are welcome to attend. \nThe March agenda will include a review of March Election results and plans for November as well as the calendar of upcoming community events where SacGOP will host a table or booth. We will also review ballot measures that are circulating to qualify for the November election and will announce the timeline for November candidate filings and endorsements. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n What Happened at the February Meeting? \nChair Betsy Mahan provided a review of the successful Open House and Presidents’ Day Dinner events. Over 60 ballots were collected\, observers were trained\, and phone calls made to support our candidates at the Open House. Presidents’ Day Keynote Speaker Steve Hilton was inspiring and we thank all sponsors and volunteers who made the Dinner a success. \nThe Central Committee unanimously approved the Executive Committee recommendations on ballot measures as follows: \n\nYes on Homelessness\, Drug Addiction\, and Theft Reduction Act (Reform Prop. 47)\nYes on Protect Kids of California Act of 2024 (parental notifications/no boys in girls sports or bathrooms/prohibits sex changes for minors)\nNo on City of Sacramento Measure C (business operations/license tax increases)\n\nWe also heard a presentation by Robert Goss\, Folsom Takes Action\, promoting a special sales tax increase of 1% to support community services. Nick Bloise stated on behalf of the Sacramento Taxpayers Association that they are in opposition.
