DESCRIPTION:Each year the Village in Fair Oaks celebrates their free range chickens. These beloved creatures have been known to stop traffic\, visit the stage during a Fair Oaks Theatre Festival production\, and generally do whatever they want\, delighting children and adults alike. \nThe Sacramento County Republican Party will sponsor a booth at the Festival and we’d love to have you stop by. There will be information on that ballot measures to repeal the gas tax\, and we’ll have the latest news on the Voters Choice Act that will completely change the way Sacramento County voters submit their ballots in 2018. \nOur booth will be located near Central Valley Community Bank on Fair Oaks Blvd. in the Village. Look for the red canopy! \nIf you’d like to volunteer\, please sign up and let us know when you can help between the hours of 7:30am when we set up\, and 7:00pm as we take down the booth.

SUMMARY:Rally to Repeal the Gas & Vehicle Tax!
DESCRIPTION:A wise man once said… WE’RE MAD AND WE’RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANY MORE!! \nThat’s how California residents feel now that the Democrat Supermajority passed a NEW tax for gas\, diesel\, vehicle registration\, and…electric vehicles! \nThis slaps us with a 12.5 cent/gallon gas tax increase\, a 20 cent/gallon diesel excise tax increase\, increases the annual vehicle registration tax $25-$175\, and creates a $100 per year fee on zero emission vehicles. This tax disproportionately impacts low income and middle-class families\, will increase the price of goods\, and will do nothing to ease congestion or help clean our air! It is a #GasTaxtrophe! \nThe Sacramento County Republican Party will hold rally’s throughout Sacramento County\, a few days after the November 1 taxes take effect. By then\, drivers will have realized that prices are up\, and they need to know why. \nThey also need to know that there is something they can do about it!  Visit the Repeal the Gas Tax page on this website to learn more\, and to sign up at the two campaigns already in motion to qualify ballot measures next November. \nTAKE ACTION!!  Rain or Shine…Meet at the SCRP Republican Headquarters at 10am on Saturday\, November 4th\, to be briefed on the repeal campaigns and to be assigned to rally’s throughout the County. Check-in begins at 6:30pm. \nOur normal second Wednesday meeting date did not give us enough time to conduct candidate interviews after the March 9 filing deadline\, so we moved it forward one week! \nThe agenda will include presentations by two statewide candidates seeking our endorsement who have not had an opportunity to address the Committee\, Secretary of State Candidate Mark Meuser\, and Gubernatorial Candidate John Cox.  Mr. Cox plans to arrive early\, so you will have an opportunity to meet him if you arrive around 6:30pm. Mr. Meuser will be traveling from the Bay Area and plans to arrive later in the meeting. \nThe Committee will vote on Executive Committee-recommended endorsements for Republicans in June Primary contested and non-contested races. It will take a 2/3 vote of the Committee Members present and voting to secure an endorsement. Sacramento-based candidates who would like to be considered should make certain they complete and return by Sunday\, March 18\, the candidate questionnaire they received after the March 9 filing deadline. On March 21\, Committee Members will have the opportunity to pull candidate names from the Executive Committee’s recommended list for separate consideration. Candidates not on that list may also be nominated for endorsement by Committee Members at the March 21 meeting. Candidates in attendance will have an opportunity to make brief comments when their race is being considered. \nWe will post videos provided by the candidates that meet our criteria up until the June election. Check-in begins at 6:30pm. \n \nWe are celebrating following a very successful Primary Election where the Sheriff and District Attorney were re-elected\, avoiding a November run-off. In addition\, all of our endorsed candidates in district races made the top two\, including Melinda Avey in AD 8\, Andreas Borgeas in SD 4\, Charlie Schaupp in CD 3\, Marla Livengood in CD 9\, and Senator Ted Gaines for the Board of Equalization\, District 1. Other victories included our current elected Republicans leading the top two spots including Senator Jim Nielsen and Assemblyman Kevin Kiley. And we celebrated our statewide endorsed candidates John Cox for Governor\, Steven Bailey for Attorney General\, and Mark Meuser for Secretary of State. \nVoters in the November Election will consider 12 ballot measures\, including the repeal of the Gas and Vehicle Tax increase. Andrew Grant will finally retire Rep. Ami Bera in CD 7\, and there will also be local races in Citrus Heights\, Elk Grove\, Folsom\, Galt and Rancho Cordova. We can make a difference in all of these races by turning out Republicans – just like we did in June. \nThe agenda will include plans for the upcoming State Fair that runs July 13-29\, a special event on July 31 where we will present the new Dinesh D’Souza film “Death of a Nation” before it hits theaters\, the establishment of a phone bank run by SacCountyGOP in our headquarters\, and updates from candidates and campaign representatives. New Ex-officios will be seated and vacancies left by those who were Regular Members of the Committee will be replaced in Districts 4 (Grant) and 3 (Avey.)
