DESCRIPTION:The Elk Grove Giant Pumpkin Festival\nA Great Family Event! \nKick off the Fall season in Elk Grove Park. Watch giant pumpkins carved like canoes race across the lake. See who will win a cash prize with the largest pumpkin – guaranteed to weigh over 1\,000 pounds! And\, of course\, stop by the Sacramento County Republican Booth and meet our volunteers and candidates running in the 2024 election! \nDid you know California has some of the nation’s highest state income\, sales and gas taxes along with rising property and utility taxes? We need some relief! \nThe “Repeal the Death Tax” initiative will restore the provisions of two voter-approved initiatives that were erased by Proposition 19 in 2020. Many voters did not realize that Prop. 19 removed protections from reassessment that had been in place for nearly 35 years. The initiative will restore Prop. 58\, approved by nearly 76% of voters in 1986\, which created the parent-child exclusion from reassessment when property is transferred between generations. It will also restore Prop. 193 (1996)\, which extended the same rights to grandparents and grandchildren if the children’s parents were deceased. \nWe will have petitions at our booth for voters to sign to make sure the Repeal the Death Tax initiative makes it to the November ballot! \nQuestions?
