President Trump and Elon Musk Check the Pulse of the Federal Workforce
President Trump and his Administration are not wasting any time making good on his campaign promises. There has been a rapid approval of his top Cabinet Members, the border is secure, thousands of criminal illegal aliens have been arrested and secured or deported, Europe and other countries are coming to the table to make trade deals, and tech companies are coming back and reinvesting in the USA. Trump is also bringing world leaders to the table to negotiate peace in Ukraine and the Middle East. It’s all good, but we know there are those who can’t accept this whirlwind of change, especially those who have been living off the taxpayers without bringing any benefit to those paying the bills.
During a recent meeting of the new Trump Administration, Elon Musk stated in very simple terms what the intent was for the email that asked for five things federal employees accomplished in the last week. He explained that this was a very low bar and not complicated. He wants to know if each federal employee is real…alive…and able to write an email. He explained this is not a performance review – it’s a pulse check!
With the goal of balancing the federal budget, DOGE’s will save billions of taxpayers dollars with a combination of fraud detection/deletion, contract/lease cancellations, contract/lease renegotiations, asset sales, grant cancellations, workforce reductions, programmatic changes, and regulatory savings.
President Trump’s Executive Order established the Department of Government Efficiency by renaming the United States Digital Service as the United States DOGE Service (USDS) established in the Executive Office of the President.
Musk has also been tasked with analyzing and recommending updates to the computer technology and systems used by the federal government. Describing himself as President Trump’s “tech support” he has assembled a team of the best and brightest techies to research how the government manages data and payments. He has stated that the U.S. government is woefully behind the times and not using technology that can identify or prevent fraud, and allow agencies to communicate and collaborate effectively.
